Claude-Martial Bourgeon (1902-1985) was a French journalist and the first CEO of Agence France-Presse (AFP) in 1944. He played a significant role during the Liberation of Paris and was involved in the resistance against occupation. Known by his pen name Claude Martial, he wrote for leftist publications in the 1930s. His tenure at AFP was marked by political challenges, including the 'Champenois affair.' After a brief leadership period, he was replaced in 1945. He is also the father of comic book artist François Bourgeon, creator of 'Les Passagers du vent.'
