Martin B. Dickman (1950–2018) was a notable American plant pathologist. He earned his B.S. in horticulture from the University of Hawaii in 1979 and completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in plant pathology there as well. After a postdoctoral fellowship, he taught at the University of Nebraska and later at Texas A&M University. Dickman served as editor-in-chief of Molecular Plant Pathology and received the Noel T. Keen Award for Research Excellence. He was a fellow of several prestigious societies and was appointed a distinguished professor at Texas A&M University before passing away in 2018.
