Martin Filipec is a Czech ophthalmologist and scientist born on April 16, 1955, in Prague. He specializes in ocular immunology and external eye diseases, focusing primarily on micro-surgery, including cornea transplantation, cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, and reconstructive surgery of the anterior segment of the eye. He also addresses refractive errors. In 2001, he founded the Eye Tissue Bank at Charles University Hospital in Prague and established the Lexum Eye Clinic in 1993, which has become one of the largest clinics in Central Europe.
