Martin J. Sherwin (July 2, 1937 – October 6, 2021) was an American historian known for his work on nuclear weapons and their proliferation. He held faculty positions at Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of California, Berkeley. At Tufts University, he was the Walter D. Greenwood Professor of English and American History, where he established the Center for Nuclear Age History and Humanities. His contributions significantly shaped the understanding of nuclear history.
