Martinus Spyridon Johannes Lodewijk, born on April 30, 1939, in Rotterdam, is a Dutch comic and advertising artist as well as a comic author. He dropped out of high school in 1957 and began creating comics, focusing on themes of space travel and piracy. His notable works include the comic strips Babel en Knetterton, Dick Harris, and the pirate series Arendt Brandt. In 1966, he introduced the famous character Agent 327. Lodewijk has also written scenarios for several comic series, including De Rode Ridder and others.
