Martin Mahner is a German biologist and philosopher of science. He specializes in the philosophy of biology, the characterization of pseudosciences, and the relationship between metaphysics and science. Mahner studied biology and geography at FU Berlin, earning his doctorate in zoology in 1992. He has held a fellowship with Mario Bunge in Montreal and has taught in Berlin. Since May 1999, he has led the Center for Science and Critical Thinking focusing on the examination of pseudosciences and is involved with the European Council of Skeptical Organizations.
