Sir Martin Ryle was a British physicist awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1974 for his contributions to astronomical research. He co-shared the award with Anthony Hewish. Ryle was born on September 27, 1918, and passed away on October 14, 1984. He developed a new type of radio telescope, enabling the imaging of faint sources of radio waves. In 1946, Ryle observed the most distant galaxies known at that time.
