Martin Štěpánek is a Czech freediver and record holder born on June 5, 1977, in Náchod. He currently resides in Florida, where he works as an instructor for Freediving Instructors International, an organization he founded in 2007. Over his career, he has set nine world records in five AIDA disciplines, although all have since been surpassed. Notably, in 2009, he achieved a remarkable record of 122 meters on a single breath, using only his monofin, becoming the first person to surpass 400 feet.
