Additionally, she headed the WHO Collaborating Center for Tobacco Control at DKFZ from 2002 to August 2016. In April 2016, she took on the position of chair of the Action Alliance Against Smoking. Pötschke-Langer's contributions were significant in advancing public health initiatives regarding cancer prevention and tobacco control.
