Colonel Inf. Drs. R.P. Marto Herlan Koeswandi was an Indonesian politician who served as the 8th regent of Poso for two terms from 1973 until 1984. He was the first rector of the Universitas Sintuwu Maroso in 1986. Koeswandi, a Christian, was seen as a negative figure by Islamic activists and was known for favoring Christian groups in bureaucratic appointments. His controversial actions included demolishing a monument inaugurated by President Sukarno, reflecting the New Order regime's efforts to erase Sukarno's historical legacy.
