Martin Franklin Comer was an American football end, born on October 28, 1917, in Indianapolis. He played college football at Tulane and was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1943. During WWII, he served in the military and played for the 1944 Second Air Force team. Comer played professionally for the Buffalo Bisons from 1946 to 1948, participating in 27 games. After his playing career, he became a football coach at Fortier High School in Louisiana, winning the Louisiana class AA coach of the year award in 1949. He passed away on March 15, 1998.
