Poorter studied at the Free Academy in The Hague and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague as well as the Minerva Academy in Groningen. Her works are inspired by a longing to capture emotions and moments in nature, exploring the relationship between humans and animals. Her diverse portfolio includes drawings, paintings, monotypes, mixed techniques, and drypoint etchings, showcased in various exhibitions across the Netherlands.
