Marvin Phillips, also known as Long Tall Marvin, is an American R&B singer and saxophonist born on October 23, 1931, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He gained prominence in the 1950s as part of the Doo-Wop duo Marvin & Johnny. Starting his career as a saxophonist in the Richard Lewis Band, he later formed his own group. Phillips released his first solo single in 1952 and enjoyed success with Marvin & Johnny on Modern Records. After a hiatus, he made a comeback in 1993 alongside his nephew, continuing the legacy of his musical career.
