Marwan al-Khatir was a Syrian poet, journalist, and radio broadcaster, born on March 18, 1943, in Boukamal, Deir ez-Zor Governorate. He studied in Al-Hasakah and graduated from the teacher's college in 1962. Al-Khatir worked as a teacher in his hometown and later in Yemen until 1981, after which he returned to Damascus to work in radio as a presenter, producer, and text reader. He was a member of the Arab Writers Union since 1970 and contributed significantly to Syrian radio drama.
