She was the granddaughter of banker Antoine Borel and made her debut in 1934 with a notable 200 guests in attendance. Borel's marriage to a physician was highlighted in 1935, but she divorced in 1937. She later married actor Alan Marshal, with whom she had one son, and acted under the stage name Mary Marshall in films and TV series. She died in 1998 and was buried alongside Marshal.
