Masahiko Ōkuni is a prominent Japanese pediatrician born on September 15, 1927, in Busan, Korea. He graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine in 1951 and became an assistant in pediatrics the following year. He earned his doctorate in medicine in 1958 and later became a lecturer, then a professor at Nihon University. He served as president of the Japanese Pediatric Society and contributed to significant research on children's cholesterol levels and related adult diseases. He was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure in 2008 and founded the Ōkuni Pediatric Clinic in Seijo.
