Masakatsu Ōkado is a Japanese economist and historian born in April 1953. He specializes in modern and contemporary economic history, as well as rural social history in Japan. Currently, he serves as a special professor at Waseda University in the School of Education and Integrated Sciences. Additionally, he holds the position of vice president and director at Yokohama National University, where he is also a professor in the Faculty of Economics. Ōkado is also the editor-in-chief of the Historical Society.
