Masaki Shimozato was a Japanese journalist born on December 28, 1936. He worked as a reporter for the newspaper 'Akahata' (now known as 'Shimbun Akahata'). In addition to his reporting, he wrote commentary on shogi (Japanese chess), particularly covering the Newcomer King's Match, using the pen name Okuyama Koki as a shogi commentator. Shimozato passed away on June 24, 2022.
