Masamitsu Oishi is a Japanese politician born on January 28, 1945. He is affiliated with the Democratic Party of Japan and serves as a member of the House of Councillors in the national legislature. A native of Sendai, he graduated from Rikkyo University and studied at Whitworth University in the United States. Oishi previously served five terms in the House of Representatives with the New Frontier Party but lost his seat in 1996. He was re-elected in 2000, lost in 2003, and then successfully ran for the House of Councillors in 2004.
