Masamoto Nasu (1942-2021) was a prominent Japanese children's writer from Hiroshima, known for his advocacy for peace and reflections on the atomic bombings. He survived the Hiroshima bombing in 1945 and later studied forest entomology. Nasu debuted in 1972 and is best known for his successful series 'Zukkoke sannin-gumi', which had over 25 million copies sold. His works include themes of war and peace, with notable translations like 'Children of the Paper Crane' and 'Hiroshima: A tragedy never to be repeated'. He passed away in 2021.
