Masaru Watada (January 20, 1942 - January 31, 1994) was a Japanese storyteller, essayist, illustrator, and entertainer, known by his stage name Shofukutei Kotsuru. He belonged to a renowned family of storytellers, being the grandson of the 5th Shofukutei Matsutake and the nephew of the 6th Matsutake. Watada's contributions to the art of storytelling and his diverse talents made him a notable figure in the entertainment world.
