Masataka Kōsaka (May 8, 1934 – May 15, 1996) was a Japanese international relations scholar, social scientist, and thinker. He served as a professor at Kyoto University's Faculty of Law and was a prominent figure in the study of international politics and European diplomatic history. Kōsaka was influenced by realism and significantly impacted Japanese international relations scholarship. He was the son of the philosopher Kōsaka Masakatsu. His notable works include 'The Maturity and Collapse of Classical Diplomacy,' 'International Politics,' 'Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida,' and 'The Concept of a Maritime Nation Japan.'
