Masayuki Naoshima is a Japanese politician from the Minshintō party, born on October 23, 1945, in Ikeda, Osaka. He served as a member of the Sangiin, Japan's upper house, and was the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Naoshima began his career at Toyota and became involved in trade unions before entering politics in 1992. He was a member of multiple parties and committees, and held various positions within the Democratic Party, including Vice Minister. He chose not to run for re-election in the 2016 Sangiin election after four terms.
