Masood Ahmad Khan, known as Masood Ashar, was a prominent Pakistani Urdu short story writer, novelist, journalist, and translator. Born on 10 February 1931 in Rampur, India, he migrated to Pakistan in 1951. Ashar was recognized for his contributions to literature, receiving the Pride of Performance in 2010 and the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2015. His notable works include several short stories published over the decades. He was a significant figure in Urdu journalism and had a notable career until his retirement in 1988, passing away in Lahore on 5 July 2021.
