Masud Husain Khan was an influential Indian linguist born on January 28, 1919. He served as the first Professor Emeritus in Social Sciences at Aligarh Muslim University and was the fifth Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, a prominent Central University in New Delhi. Khan significantly contributed to modern Urdu Linguistics, which is underscored in a critical essay by Muhammad Usman Butt titled 'Masud Hussain Khan: Modern Linguistic Perspective'. He passed away on October 16, 2010, in Aligarh due to Parkinson's disease.
