He is affiliated with the Novo Party and currently serves as the Vice Governor of Minas Gerais, having been elected in the 2022 state elections alongside Governor Romeu Zema. Previously, he was a city councilor in Belo Horizonte until his appointment as Secretary-General of the Government of Minas Gerais, a position he held from March 2020 to January 2023.
