Mathias Roten was a Swiss paraglider pilot born on February 10, 1979, in Thun. He started flying in 1995 and excelled in paragliding acrobatics and speedflying. Known for his innovation, Roten achieved significant competitive successes, including a historic backward flying acro program in 2006. As a test pilot for GIN-Gliders, he contributed to the development of the GIN Nano 06 and became a leader in speedflying. His life tragically ended on March 7, 2008, during a test flight accident.
