Matlub Ali (December 16, 1942 – September 24, 2020) was a prominent Odia political figure, writer, and poet. He was actively involved in the politics of Odisha as a member of the Indian National Congress. Ali was elected as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly four times, specifically in the elections of 1974, 1980, 1985, and 1995 from the Mahanga constituency. Additionally, in 2015, he received the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award for his literary works. He passed away at the age of 78 on September 24, 2020.
