He was known for his work with several bands, including The Diamond Dogs, Zzaj, Mr Soul & his Marshmallows, and Thirteen Moons. In addition to his band engagements, Gunnarsson accompanied various artists such as Strindbergs, Idde Schultz, Miss Li, Staffan Hellstrand, and Kikki Danielsson. He passed away on May 28, 2014, in Hägersten, Stockholm, where he is buried in the memorial grove of Hässelby cemetery.
