Mats Nileskär is a Swedish music journalist born on May 29, 1959. He has been the host of the radio program P3 Soul since 1978, previously known as Soul Corner. Nileskär has conducted numerous interviews with representatives of soul, funk, and hip-hop genres, significantly boosting interest in African American popular music in Sweden. He achieved his 6,000th interview in December 2009. He has received accolades, including the Kerstin M Lundberg Prize in 2014 and Lukas Bonniers’ large journalism prize in 2018.
