Matt Bevin is an American businessman and politician who served as the 62nd governor of Kentucky from 2015 to 2019. Born on January 9, 1967, in Denver, Colorado, he grew up in New Hampshire and earned a degree from Washington and Lee University in 1989. After serving four years in the U.S. Army, he became wealthy in investments and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, in 1999. His governorship included passing right-to-work legislation and abortion restrictions, but he lost re-election to Andy Beshear in a close race in 2019.
