Maurice Jean Nadon (1920–2009) was the 16th Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police from 1974 to 1977. Born in Mattawa, Ontario, he joined the RCMP in 1939 and became the first French Canadian commissioner. He retired in 1977. In honor of his service, the RCMP named a patrol boat and the new headquarters in Ottawa after him. He passed away in Pembroke, Ontario, and was buried in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa. He was survived by his children, Robert and Suzanne.
