Max Jendly is a Swiss jazz pianist and big band leader born on March 3, 1945, in Freiburg im Uechtland. After studying economics, he worked as a printer and journalist before focusing on jazz music in 1980. He has taught music in Freiburg and Montreux and played a pivotal role in shaping jazz in the canton of Freiburg. Jendly founded the 'Jazz Parade' summer festival and established the 'La Spirale' jazz club. Since 1991, he has directed the big band at the Freiburg Conservatory, releasing albums and composing music.
