He became known for his interpretations of traditional songs and his own compositions, primarily influenced by the Huainos of his native region. His friendship with José María Arguedas further enhanced his recognition, making him one of the most prominent musicians in Peru. Huamaní passed away on February 12, 2015, in Lima.
