Sheikh Mehmet Adil, born on March 29, 1957, is a prominent Sufi Sheikh and the successor to Sheikh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani. He is the firstborn son of Sheikh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani and was raised in Damascus under the guidance of Sheikh Abdullah Faiz ad-Daghestani. He studied Islamic sciences in Damascus, receiving his certification from scholars of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. Following his father's passing in May 2014, he became a leading figure in the Naqshbandi order.
