Meir Lubor Dohnal, born on May 27, 1938, in Prague, is a Czech dramaturg and screenwriter. After finishing high school, he briefly attended a military academy before being expelled. Following military service, he unsuccessfully applied to FAMU, leading him to work as a construction worker. He was eventually accepted to FAMU and graduated in dramaturgy in 1965. After signing Charter 77, he emigrated to Munich in 1978, where he worked as a screenwriter and contributor to Radio Free Europe. Since 1992, he has been active in the Czech Republic and has taught at the FAMU department of screenwriting and dramaturgy since 1998.
