Menachem Eini is a retired Israeli Air Force Colonel born on December 24, 1937. He served as a combat navigator and was captured by Egyptian forces during the War of Attrition. Following his capture, he went on to serve as the Air Force Attaché in Washington and was the head of the Lavi Project, which focused on developing a new fighter aircraft for Israel.
