Meri Avsenak Pogačnik, born Marija Avsenak, is a Slovenian chanson singer and music editor, born on April 9, 1950, in Brežice. She graduated from the music department of the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana and worked as a music educator. In 1976, she became the editor of popular music at Radio Ljubljana. By 1982, she began organizing solo concerts as a chanson singer, notably collaborating with composer, pianist, and arranger Bojan Adamič, who set many of her lyrics to music.
