Meta Theresia de Vries (1941-2011) was a Dutch radio DJ and jazz singer, known as the first female disc jockey at the public broadcaster AVRO. She presented various popular programs including Blues, Ballads & Beat and was recognized for giving entertainment tips. After leaving AVRO in 1991, she worked for Euro Jazz and later hosted shows on Radio West, while also teaching at the Media Academie. De Vries had a deep love for jazz music and released a CD in 2003. Her radio career continued until her death from cancer at age 70.
