Metropolitan Panteleimon of Belgium, born Nikolaos Kontogianis on February 7, 1935, in Chios, Greece, was a prominent Orthodox Christian bishop. With a degree from the Theological School of Halki, he served in various roles within the Holy Metropolis of Belgium from its founding in 1969. He was elected Metropolitan of Belgium on December 22, 1982, and contributed to establishing the Orthodox Church Office in the European Union. After resigning in 2013, he returned to Chios, where he passed away on January 24, 2023.
