Mher Simon Melkonyan (September 18, 1920 – July 20, 1996) was an Armenian Soviet animal husbandry specialist and a political and state figure. He was born in Great Parni, within the Alexandrapol region of Armenia. Melkonyan earned a Doctor of Economic Sciences degree in 1977. Throughout his career, he significantly contributed to the field of animal husbandry and engaged in various political and state responsibilities.
