Michael Chapman was an English Anglican priest, serving as the Archdeacon of Northampton from 1991 until his retirement in 2004. He received his education at notable institutions including Lichfield Cathedral School and the University of Leeds. Ordained as a deacon in 1963 and as a priest in 1964, he held various positions throughout his career, including a curacy in Sunderland, and chaplaincy in the Royal Navy. He was also Vicar of St Mark the Evangelist Church in Surrey before becoming Archdeacon. He died in 2019 at the age of 79.
