Michael Francis Saldanha, also known as M. F. Saldanha, is an Indian judge and former Justice of the Bombay High Court born on 13 February 1942. After retirement, he investigated the 2008 attacks on Christians in Karnataka, criticizing the state government for their response. His Saldanha Commission report, resulting from extensive fieldwork involving 413 locations and over 2,000 victims, labeled the attacks as 'state-sponsored terrorism.' He condemned both the violence and the inadequacies of the official government investigation led by B. K. Somasekhara for ignoring substantial evidence of police misconduct.
