Michael Grabner is a former professional Austrian ice hockey player born on October 5, 1987. He began his career with the EC VSV in Austria before moving to North America at 17 to play for the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL. Selected 14th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2006 NHL Draft, Grabner had a stint in the AHL before joining the NHL. He played five seasons with the New York Islanders and was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2015. Grabner also represented Austria internationally, including at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
