Michael Henshall was a long-serving Suffragan Bishop of Warrington. He was educated at Manchester Grammar School and St Chad's College, Durham. Ordained in 1957, he began his ministry with a curacy in Bridlington, followed by incumbencies in Micklehurst and Altrincham. In 1976, he became Suffragan Bishop of Warrington, serving in this role for 20 years before his retirement in 1996. Henshall was the father of Nicholas Henshall, who has served as Dean of Chelmsford since 2014. He passed away on 7 February 2017 at the age of 88.
