Michael Wayne Hopkins is a former American college basketball player and coach, known for his time with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers from 1989 to 1993. He served as head coach of the Chanticleers from 1994 to 1998, with an overall record of 30-76. Afterward, he was an assistant coach at The Citadel from 1999 to 2002 and then at Virginia Tech for the 2002-03 season. Hopkins has played a variety of roles in college basketball throughout his career, demonstrating leadership and coaching abilities.
