Dr. Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj is a Malaysian politician, born on March 28, 1955. He is the chairperson of the Socialist Party of Malaysia and served in the Malaysian Parliament representing the Sungai Siput constituency from 2008 to 2018. Jeyakumar won his seat in the 2008 general election, defeating long-time incumbent Samy Vellu. He was a member of the People's Justice Party during this period. Although he successfully retained his seat in 2013, he lost in 2018 while contesting under the Socialist Party, receiving only 3.52% of the vote.
