Michael John Macklin is an Australian former Franciscan friar, educator, and fundraiser who served as a senator for Queensland with the Australian Democrats from 1981 to 1990. After his political career, he was the executive dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of New England from 2002 to 2007.
