Michael Masley (born September 22, 1952) is an American musician recognized for his innovative approach to the Hungarian cymbalom, utilizing a unique instrument he developed called the bowhammer. This instrument combines elements of a fiddle bow and a dulcimer hammer. Since 1983, he has been primarily a street musician, performing and selling his recordings in the San Francisco Bay Area. Masley's music blends various genres, including elements of earth-folk and Afro-Celtic, and has been described as new-age or world music, known for its rich overtones.
