Michael Creed Maxey, born around 1951, served as the 11th President of Roanoke College from July 1, 2007. Prior to his presidency, he was the vice president for college relations and dean of admissions and financial aid from 1992. Under his leadership, a significant fundraising campaign aimed at $200 million was initiated, securing $130 million prior to its launch in 2013. He also oversaw the construction of the $35 million Cregger Center, which opened in 2016.
